Reiki - What is Reiki?, How does Reiki work?
Reiki, an ancient system of Energy healing using Universal life force energy.
Reiki - what is it? Reiki is an ancient system of energy healing, based on the idea that universal life force energy flows through us and is what causes us to be alive. (Rei) meaning universal, (Ki) meaning life force. If your life force energy is low, then you are more likely to get sick or feel stress.
Why Energy Healing? There are approximately 70 trillion cells in the body. Your heart pumps oxygen to all 70 trillion every 60 seconds. Every second cells are exchanging fluids, glucose, proteins, gases and molecules and messages. This process called "cellular respiration" makes electrons inside each cell "very happy". Happy electrons jump up and down - 13 trillion bouncing cells creates energy.
We are electrical ! Think about it more, and you'll realise our bodies are about 70% water. (Without water, we die.) Just as water, we are also great conductors of ELECTRICITY / ENERGY. Electricity travels well throughout the human body, not only in the cells - Our thoughts are electrical pulses. Our brain constantly sends and receives vibrational messages and frequencys through the body. However unlike a power cord, our bodies are not insulated - our skin does not work this way. Hence we cannot contain our energy. Instead it flows through our body and around us in an "electro-magnetic" field called our aura.
We call this unseen energy "life-force". Life-force energy nourishes our body and flows through pathways called chakras and meridians. Your body needs life-force energy to function, which is why the body responds to Reiki - Reiki is energy healing.
How does it work? Reiki introduces energy into the body by the placing of hands on seven main Chakra points. Reiki identifies the disruption of the body's energy flow and gently clears blockages and negative energies. Life-force then flows through facilitating the body's natural healing process of cells and organs.
EG; Think of Reiki as your battery charger. We are energy workers who have learnt to charge up energy from the universe and pass it on to others. Our hands are like jumper cables. You will be better able to recharge your own energy, with the boosted help of an energy worker. (Ref: Tina M Zion)
It sounds too simple! While indeed incredibly simple. Reiki is powerful and people usually let go of any initial scepticism after a treatment. Most people keep coming back for more of Reiki's relaxation and wellness benefits.
What Happens? You complete a client information form and then your practitioner will fully explain the process. You remain fully clothed and lie on a massage table. The practitioner will place their hands on seven chakra points. During the treatment you may feel so relaxed you doze off. Some experience heat, coolness, tingling, magnetic, vibrating or pulsing sensations. Some may not feel anything at all.
What ailments are good for Reiki? Reiki aims to treat the cause of the problem, not just the quick fix. A technique for stress reduction, relaxation, body rejuvenation and repair which treats the body on the physical, emotional, spiritual and mental levels. So it's good for all ailments eg; heart, liver, kidney, indigestion, muscular strains, bone, back, neck aches, womans problems to stress and headaches.
