Reiki Certified Professional Practitioner
Requirements with Reiki NZ IncYou can choose at Reiki 2 or 3 levels to become a Certified Professional Practitioner with Reiki NZ Inc. This is not a mandatory requirement, rather it offers a choice for those who desire to expand their practice.
Reiki NZ Inc is the national body for Reiki in New Zealand, and as an affiliate of the New Zealand Charter of Health Practitioners Inc they have set strict certification standards for "Certified Professional Practitioner".
The certification system works on a credit system. Total of 300 hours/credits required. 1 credit = 1 hour of Reiki theory or practical. You can get a detailed list of the standards from Denise.
Briefly the credit system is as follows:
- min 6 months between completion of Reiki 2 / or have completed Reiki 3
- evidence of certificates for Reiki 1, 2 and/or 3 degrees
- submission of log books for Reiki 1,2,3 /or submission of client treatment forms
- cross credits are applicable, would apply to practitioners who have completed relevant training of other modalities
- (6) 3 treatments with an experienced Reiki Practitioner / or teacher - giving and receiving
- (42) self treatments to include 21 days minimum
- (12) share/group healings 6 x 2 hours
- (75) 75 x 1 hour treatments, includes distance treatments, and documented treatments through Reiki 1 and 2
- (36) 6 x case studies of 5 treatments (can be part of the 75)
- (16) Current First aid certificate OSH approvied
- (30) Successful completion of an approved NZ or oversaes equivalent in Anatomy and Physiology
- (10) Any one of the following 3 options: Business course / operating a successful practice for 3 years or more, course covering laws applicable to Reiki Practitiioners
- (15) Essay on Reiki or give 15 min presentation to Teacher member of Reiki NZ Inc
- (8) Insurance cover
- Character References: 1 x from teacher, 2 x from clients
- ** If no share/group healings available, increase the number of Reiki Treatments
These are minimum requirements. All treatments must have supporting evidence eg; client treatment form/signed log book.
To maintain "Certified Professional Practitioner" certification it will be necessary to produce evidence of 350 hours of Reiki practice. Credits can be accrued from:
- Client treatments
- Distance treatments
- Workshops/seminars to upskill
- Reiki exchanges and sharing groups
- Community events
- Published articles / presentations
